Multi-colour lithophane from a photo

Convert an image into layered heightmaps for a multi-colour 3D print, so a photo becomes a backlit panel.

Requirements

Load a photo; quantise it to N colours (2–6) with dithering off

Generate one STL per colour layer, each a heightmap where thickness encodes brightness

Layers must align exactly and share a base; export a combined 3MF with colour assignments

A preview that simulates backlighting

Sizes and thicknesses configurable, with printable defaults

Suggest the N colours from the image automatically
