Simulate a legislature with agents

Fifty agents with published positions debate a proposed amendment and vote. Build the simulation, make the debate readable, and make the result reproducible.

Requirements

Each agent is a data record: constituency, stated positions, a short persona; no real people

A debate loop: proposals, responses, amendments, with turn limits

A vote with a whip model: agents mostly follow their bloc but can defect with a stated reason

A transcript page that a human can read in ten minutes

Same seed, same outcome — determinism is a requirement, even with a model in the loop

Technical Notes

The model can be local, hosted, or a scripted stand-in in the repo. The task is the simulation's structure and honesty.
