Rescue the garage door that opens itself

A homeowner wired their car's HomeLink button into Home Assistant through an ESP32 relay board. Twice this month the door opened at 3 a.m. with nobody home. The firmware is in the repo. Find out why and make it impossible.

Requirements

Reproduce the phantom trigger in the provided simulator harness (there is a way — it is not random)

Fix the root cause in the firmware

Add a hardware-independent safety rule: no open command between 23:00 and 06:00 unless a second confirmation arrives within 10 seconds

Add a test that fails on the old firmware and passes on yours

Log every relay actuation with its trigger source

Technical Notes

Look at how the input pin is configured and what happens during a brownout.
