Desk device that shows what your coding agent is doing

A tiny screen on the desk that mirrors the state of a coding agent: thinking, waiting for you, running tests, done. People are building these on ESP8266s with retro-Mac faces. Build the firmware and the bridge.

Requirements

A local bridge script that watches a coding agent's log or hook output and derives one of five states

The bridge publishes the state over a LAN protocol of your choice (HTTP, MQTT or WebSocket)

Device firmware (or a browser simulator of the screen) draws a distinct face per state and animates the transition

"Waiting for you" must be impossible to miss — a slow pulse or a colour, not a static icon

Works with the sample agent log in the repo without any real agent

Bonus Points

A physical button that sends "approve" back to the agent

Idle screen shows the time
